King Laffo is the alias of 22 year old musician Chris Jones. Though a guitarist by trade, Laffo has recently launched himself into the realm of electronic music production head first. Tired of being unable to truly complete songs without others, with no collaboration or band ever working out, he began experimenting with various electronic music software, using all available resources to express himself in ways not fully possible with a lone guitar. Before long, creating music electronically had become Laffo's greatest passion.
Much of King Laffo's approach in creating his music is purely experimental, and his influences are vast. Accordingly, his projects cover a lot of ground and may stray from what you would typically expect from electronic music, and music in general.
King Laffo combines musical styles of frantic paces, time changes, polyrhythms and complex arrangements, with softer, melodic passages and ambient textures. Laffo is also an avid whore of the "slow groove." He loves to drop the BPM down to 85 now and then and have you bump yo head! Naturally, as his experience progresses, so does the realm of possibility within his music. No convention is safe, and King Laffo hopes to break down those barriers brick by brick.
