About Me

Listen to Our Imaginary Friends: you might just like us.
Our Imaginary Friends in it's foetal state was born when Ben and Paul were introduced through a mutual friend/brother, Jack Gardner. They instantly clicked with a mutual adoration of the love of Super Furry Animals, among others. Mostly Super Furry Animals though. The current line up came into existance-very gradually- after Ben befriended piano virtuoso Gary at sixth form. Ineveitably, they started talking about music and found they could complimet each other well, in introducing a member with good musical grounding to help interpret Ben's and Paul's vivid imaginations and big ambitions. Close and dear friends Mikey and Rob developed into a sound rhythm section (despite how it may sound on that terrible recording!). We exist through a sheer love of music, gradually exploring and chipping away at what we can do as a band. Early writing sessions provided the song 'Chains', however we feel it is no longer an accurate representation of the band. Its futile to deny your roots, though. Keep an eye on us, see which direction we blossom (or wilt) into. Our Imaginary Friends would like to play with bands from the Sunderland area that don't try avidly to sound poetic in exhuming the corpse of The Libertines or sing in pseudo-American accents.
