About Me

Remember Gene Hackman in Enemy of the State? I am just as paranoid, but without the technological know-how. Basically I am here for the following reasons: 1. To make my friends look more popular because they are lovely people and deserve to sit at the popular people table in the cafeteria. 2. To provide you with respectable music and movie recommendations in case you are not my friend and accidentally ran into my profile (not likely anyway, since I have my privacy setting configured to "Sleeping With One Eye Open.") and 3. To be able to spy on other people (you have to be a member to do that!).Besides, getting to know me in person is so much more fun.Ok? Ok.

My Interests

I am slowly catching up to the information age here: http://evicious.blogspot.com

I'd like to meet:

Sometimes I think the list of qualifications for the type of people I want to meet is getting too long. Other times I think the list doesn't matter, if I meet someone who makes me forget to breathe.

Music:

A totally random mix of hip hop, dub, dancehall, or just good old 90s rockin' hair bands. Highly recommended: Pharcyde, Black Eyed Peas (pre-Fergie), Matisyahu, Sean Paul, Jay-Z, Lauryn Hill, No Doubt (pre-Harijuku), Outkast, Mountain Brothers, the Neptunes, Hieroglyphics, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Guns n Roses, and of course my love dove, JT!

Movies:

I can watch these over and over again: Next Stop Wonderland (all time favorite), Interview with the Vampire, The Professional, The Fifth Element, The Usual Suspects, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Bound, A New Kind of Love, The Bird Cage, Clueless, Ocean's 11.

Television:

Get Beyond TV and record these shows: West Wing, Law and Order, BBC's The Office and MI5, Iron Chef, The Apprentice, America's Next Top Model, Project Runway,

Books:

The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion, Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, Heat by Bill Buford, Galileo's Daughters by Dava Sobel, The Spirit Catches You And You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman.
