About Me

1982: D’Kemp’ starts his musical career as “dj Nick Van Dam” on several local radio stations. 1988: D’Kemp’ begins to turn the tables with the party crew “PBN”. While buying records he meets Jan Vanwinckel (ex-Lè Travo), who works at a local record store and has his one man band called SW2. One night, D’Kemp’ joins Jan, as his roadie, to a SW2 show and that’s where the bug bites him real hard. 1992: D’Kemp’ joins Jan’s brand new band “Perfect Disguise”, only two weeks after he had bought himself a bass guitar. 1993: April 4th, D’Kemp’ plays his first gig at De Kloemp in Bunsbeek. 1994: After they play the main stage of the Suikerrock festival, Perfect Disguise splits up. D’Kemp’ and Jan go on as “[maus]”, a new wave/grunge/rock combo. (duo?) 1996: Drum- and sample machines get replaced by a real live drummer called Walter Maho and they change the name of the band into “Planet BOOM!” 1998: Walter leaves the Planet BOOM!. D’Kemp’ and Jan decide to go each their own way. 1999: D’Kemp’ joins “circle”, where he replaces Axl Hombroux. March 26th he plays his first gig with circle at the Boerenrock pré-festival in Waanrode. 2004: October 3rd, circle plays it’s 180th show in Dendermonde and comes to an end. 2005: D’Kemp’ starts working on his own projects Straight Fwd. (minimalistic electro-wave) and Angelove67 (electro dj). 2008: D'Kemp' reunites with 2 of his former bands and starts rehearsing for some shows. The Planet BOOM! reunion is set back to a later stage, as Jan Vanwinckel is too busy with his actual bands cd just came out. 2009: The circle reunion is a fact!!! The rehearsal sequence will be set to full speed starting from march. A first show is booked: Rota Rock in Landen (Belgium) a second show might follow. The dj sets remain available during this short circle reunion...
