I Know A Little About Alot..and Alot About Nothing

About Me

I am recently married, a baseball fanatic, and trying to get my life back on track. I've slept on park benches and partied with rock stars, so nothing really shocks or impresses me....save for the truly genuine people I've been fortunate enough to meet. I serve coffee to pay the bills, but it doesn't define me as a person. I'm well educated and street smart, a pretty dangerous combination. I hate people who ask me what I do....what I do? What they really mean is...how much money do you make and am I better than you? Tools. I lead a pretty unconventional lifestyle, and am lucky enough to have a spouse who for the most part shares my world view. I mistrust 90% of the people I meet, and am right about them 90% of the time. I use to think George W. was just an idiot, now I am sure he is the personification of evil. I think 9/11 was an inside job, and can't understand why so many intelligent people accept that steaming pile of crap that is the 9/11 Commission Report. I don't give a flying **** if Barry Bonds did steroids, and wish people would get off their high horses and take a good look in the mirror. I smoke cigarettes, and know that they are bad for me but do it anyways. If you insist on making a big deal about it (former smokers are the worst), I will more than likely point out one or more of your character flaws or vices and tell you to get back to me when you achieve perfection. That pretty much sums it up. Oh... and I usually sport a beard, not because I think I look good with one, but because I REALLY hate shaving.

My Interests

Baseball...I like watching it, playing it, talking about it. I spend my spare time chilling with the wife, watching TV, playing fantasy sports and OOTP (a nerdy baseball sim game)and doing internet activism. I have a stack of 50 DVD's that I will eventually get around to watching some day. I have also been known to spend the evening at the local watering hole as I enjoy a good pint.

I'd like to meet:

I would have loved to dropped a hit of acid with Hunter S Thompson. Since that ain't gonna happen, I reserve this space for all the Starbuck's haters out there. I know its cool and trendy to diss the company that puts a roof over my head, but a little research would show that most of what you think you know about Starbuck's either isn't true or is grossly oversimplified. If you want to hate the man, try Kraft who has a monopoly on a good portion of the world's food. See food is a neccessity, coffee not so much. They also own Maxwell House, Sanka, Tim Horton's and many other coffee brands. Kraft is owned by Altria which owns Phillip Morris...catch my drift? Starbuck's has been good to me and I don't appreciate you insulting the company I work for. I walk or carpool to work, and spend my spare time doing internet activism...so don't preach to me about being part of the problem. But if you must, bring your "A" game and a little evidence to back whatever drivel you'll spew my way, cause I will debate you to the death. Mull that over your mac and cheese.

Music:

Jeff Buckley, Widespread Panic, U2, Green Day, Neil Young, Johnny Cash, REM, The Saps, The Delafields, Sexfist, The Siderunners, Outlaw Family Band, Old No. 8, Gravy, Cuban Sandwich Crisis. Anything with a good hook, a cool groove, or decent lyrics warrants a listen IMO. If I know you and your a musician, chances are I own your CD or have seen you live.

Movies:

I'll watch anything (within reason...no chic flicks please). I'll also download and burn anything I can get my hands on. See I am damn proud of my movie collection and it will never be big enough. My current faves are: Syriana, Munich, Tombstone, The Bourne Trilogy, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, any Bond flick (especially the most excellent Casino Royale...shame on the people who said Daniel Craig wouldn't be a good Bond), Office Space, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Old School, Ronin, Half-Baked....etc., etc., blah, blah, blah.

Television:

Any baseball game, Hu$tle, Law & Order, My Name Is Earl, The Office, That 70's Show, The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Daily Show, Nightline, PTI and Baseball Tonight. I also like falling asleep to the History Channel. I like my TV and lots of it. If that makes me shallow and uninteresting...then so be it.

Books:

I don't really read books....what can I say...between the internet and television I have enough stimulus. I CAN read though. Do blogs count? Cause I read a ton of those. I have also read a few e-mails that were about as long as a book.

Heroes:

If you go to work (and work hard while your there), are respectful to your spouse, and love your children....your golden in my book.
