Hornsby's a New Orleans-based singer/songwriter and student of international development at Tulane University. He was born in Virginia, grew up in Texas, and lived in Central America and Africa before moving to the birthplace of his mother in Southern Louisiana in 2003.
During the couple of years preceding the Federal Flood, he performed weekly sets on Frenchman Street and was a regular onstage at the House of Blues. Since the storm, he's replaced some equipment and spent his winters back in town working and playing while waiting for summer exploring of the Americas.
These days, he's wrapping up an EP due by Mardi Gras and playing out solo acoustic at your favorite New Orleans neighborhood jernts. The music you hear in the Myspace player is featured on the new project, where Michael Skinkus and Helen Gillet lend their talents on percussion and cello, respectively.
To the left, you'll find some digital miscellany including slideshows from October backpacking across the Grand Canyon and post-Jazzfest walking in Peru. Pause Hornsby's music above and take a click if you've got a minute.
