How many days to Kauai?

About Me

Being a teacher is definitely life defining... love my kids (students). All likes/dislikes are really mood oriented, and I try to be up for anything. Case in Point: Tamar called me and said, "want to go to Europe for three weeks next month?" What else could I say? But hey, I NEED the time off. Spend a lot of time with my husband (weird, I know), Nate, and try to get out to all my friends... scattered to the winds, we are. So if you're a scattered one, send me a line! (PS- I don't add current students or people I don't know. Sorry!)

My Interests

Travel. LOTS of it. Trying to do the surfing thing right- it's a valiant effort! But we all know how coordinated I am :) Love to read (still), write, watch/talk about movies, poker night, chill with friends, spend time with Nate.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

Will listen to anything. Most Played Right Now: new Rilo Kiley, revolving with NPR radio- somebody help me!

Movies:

It's all mood oriented. Recent Faves: The Departed, Thank You For Smoking.Classic Faves: any 'old' movies, Star Wars, Big Lebowski, The Salton Sea, Princess Bride, Young Frankenstien.... I can't even begin. Take the quiz:
What Star Wars Character Are You?

Padme Amidala
Congratulations. You are Padme Amidala, the beautiful young senator from Naboo. You were commited to civic duty from a young age and believe in democracy for all.

Television:

All I have to say is, TIVO.

Books:

Do you really want to ask this of an English teacher? I'll read anything that crosses my path. Might throw it at the wall before I finish, but will at least try :) Favorite Authors/ poets: Marquez, Shakespeare, Dostoyevsky, Vonnegut, Neruda, Frost, Morrison, Faulkner... and could go on and on....

Heroes:

Teachers, Professors, and the incomparable Momma G.

My Blog

I found the One- handed Man....

and I rear-ended him!Yup, I rear-ended a one-handed man.  And, he didn't speak much English, so I couldn't determine if he was really hurt- me:  "Te duele? Necessito llamo la policia?"him: "...
