I'd like to meet:
Smart people. Funny people. Interesting people. Real people. People from way back in the day.

Books:
Um...
I like books. A lot. Basically, if you put it in front of me and it contains words, I'll read it. Milk cartons, TP wrappers, you name it. Usually have anywhere around 5 books in progress at any given time.
My all-time favorite series of books is the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich - funny, sassy and they have the only fictional character that I've ever had a mad crush on. Ranger... Fictional yum.
Other favorites: Gone With the Wind, Little Women, Charlaine Harris's Shakespeare series, Harry Potter, Katie MacAlister, well-written YA novels in general (where the hell was this stuff when I was growing up? Sweet Valley High was pure claptrap in comparison to what the kids have access to these days - yay for breaking out the YA mold!), Lousie Rennison and the Georgia Nicholson series, David Sedaris, and on and on and on.
Since January 1, 2007, have read 65 books (as of 11.16.07).
Presently reading a lot of Charlaine Harris - not the vampire series, though - can't get into those - and starting the Stephanie Meyer series that everybody has been going on and on about.
