Spent the first 28 yrs of my life in Minnesota. Last year I moved to Half Moon Bay, California. Stayed for three months and did nothing but surf and work. It got to the point where all I wanted to do was surf. Then I started missing my son, Ian, and knew what I had to do was move closer to him and start focusing on the future.I now live in Lakewood, Colorado and have a great life. I love my job, have great friends, and I've started to grow some roots in a place I will be forever. Maybe not the Denver area but definitely Colorado. My goal is to continue building my work experiences so I can open up my own business in the mountains.My family is still in MN and my son lives in Mitchell, S.D. so you can probably understand why I didn't move closer to him. If you don't understand, I'll tell you. It's because I want my boy to experience life in Colorado as well as how things are in S.D. and MN. Yeah, it sucks not being able to see him as often as I like but it will be worth it in the long run for both of us. Plus, I now have complete faith in his mom. She's done a great job of raising him.Most of my friends still live in MN, too. It's always a party when I go back there. Not because I never see them and we want to get crazy but because it's always a party in Mankato. Not many things change in ol' Mankato and that's why I love it so much.
