Iris3, a progressive, alternative 3 piece from Anglesey in North Wales…. Their sound is melodic with the faintest undertones of the Foo Fighters, Muse, Smashing Pumpkins and Biffy Clyro, notable bands that inspire this dynamic 3 piece. Iris3 have been playing in their home town of Holyhead since 2003,introducing audiences to their unique comments on anything from their own personal experiences, past and present, to Indian call centres! The songs, written by frontman, Paul Williams, are full of the local flavour of North Wales, and have an intelligent and gripping diversity. Co-frontman, Martin Roberts, solid bass playing and Gary Pritchard’s drum technique is passionate and the band sound like a unit truly in tune with each other’s thinking…or as Henry Griffith of Snogonline commented, “all in all…very impressive!’ (while doing a write-up of Iris3’s recent success…3rd place in the Bangor Battle of the Bands, though when you consider that Iris3 also came 24th out of 1600 bands for a place at Glastonbury…you CAN’T ignore them!) Iris3 have recently entered and won a battle of the bands also held in Bangor in the Octagon night club. Iris3 can often be found at Gigs, not only in North Wales, but all over Wales as well as in the North West of England. EP’s include ‘Breath’ and ‘Nonchalant’. The 1st Album ‘Battle Crash & Bleeding’ is under production and is on it’s way imminently. Take my advice and look out for this band…they won’t let you down. Gillian Brownson.
