Long time conspirators, Mark Broom and Milo Smee- both hewn from outposts of the Essex rave scene, kick started this stone masons nightmare of 5 Mic Cluster. Along with Chris Baker and Fergus Purcell, hit the studio in late summer ’05 and ejected the sonic egg that is ‘Crystal Mic’. Borne of a desire to mix live and electronic production methods, the combined experience of the members should hint at the schizophrenic nature of the music- Lets cut the crap..-Mark Broom, all round UK techno ambassador; Pure Plastic Recordings, king of the snakes, internationly renowned DJ touring with Autechre amongst others, producer and collaborator with Baby Ford, Ben Sims, Plaid, MFA etc. etc. -Milo Smee, producing and remixing as Kruton since mid 90’s, co founder of Chrome Hoof, the prog- doom- disco collective, drummer in hardcore band ‘Conmungos’ and more recently has entered phase two of the ‘Binary Chaffinch’ project. -Chris Baker, keyboard wizard who has worked with many over the past 300 or so years, including Faderflippers, The Cartridge family, Jesper Dahlback, Imitation Electric Piano, Bronx Dogs, Kingpin Cartel to name just a few. -Fergus Purcell, who’s been lucky enough to star in a Bee Gee’s video, created the cult t-shirt label ‘Tonite’ and also amateur tattooist- to complete this musical voyager’s unholy trinity.Now p**s off, guff heads.
