About Me

..Arthur Funkarelli is on a mission. Five young, but able veterans who'll stop at nothing, not even police roadblocks, to bring the truth to the masses. It's all right to be a little scared, but be ready. Real music for real people is the goal and you are the target audience.
We are not part of a retro trend. We are not prog-rockers out to conquer space and time. We are not pretty-boy industry darlings. We are the sum of our influences and the product of thousands of road miles. The bastard sons of rock and roll still live. A raucous double guitar attack, soulful and commanding dueling vocalists, and a virtuoso saxophonist are our calling cards. Prodigious stage presence, deep musical knowledge, a punk rock ethos, and unsurpassed dedication to "the show" are our constants.
We have invested our souls in our belief of the musical truth. We have released four independent albums and done countless tours. Our music has scorched the soundtracks of dozens of movies and tv shows. We have established rabid fans from coast to coast to coast. We're coming all over! Are you ready for Arthur Funkarelli?

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: http://www.funkarelli.com
Band Members:

Bad Alice French ... Vox, Guitars, Howler. L'il Fra .................. Vox, Guitars, Boogie Man. The Beast ............. Sax, Wrestler. Too Tall Jones ....... Bass, Sax, Pool Cleaner. Dirty Al ................ Drums, Percussion, Vox.

Influences: Hendrix, NoMeansNo, Faith No More, Kyuss, The Jacksons, Ramones, Black Uhuru, Curtis Mayfield, Led Zeppelin, Doug And The Slugs, Hall And Oates, Metallica, Wes Montgomery, Fishbone, 24-7 Spyz, Frank Zappa, The Temptations, ZZ Top, Roots Roundup, Hulk Hogan, Freddie King, P-Funk, Bob Ross-the happy painter, Timothy Leary, Aldous Huxley, Hunter S. Thompson, Jack Kerouac, and Beer.
Sounds Like: A good-time mix, all original. You’ll hear a little ol’ school Fishbone, shades of Sublime, a shitload of Ramones, homage to Curtis Mayfield, howls that rival Anselmo, and sweet soul that recalls a time when The Temptations made it sound so fine.

DISCOGRAPHY: Three full length releases, one five song ep:

WAVES (2007, Mushroom, Hipposonic, Profile studios. Darren Grahn produced. Funkarelli funded.)

THE BEAST VS. THE EAST ( 2004, EP, Funkarelli studios production.)

GOLDIE'S REVENGE (2000, Greenhouse Studios, Vancouver, mixed/co-produced Darren Grahn, Funkarelli funded and produced)

GOLDIE ROGERS PRESENTS... (1999, Greenhouse Studios, Dave Ashton engineered, Funkarelli funded and produced)

TOURING:
The summer months are party prolific but, being proudly Canadian, we butter our bread in the winter. When it gets cold we alternate rockin' major centers in B.C. and Alberta with shows at resort towns like Whistler, Banff and Fernie. The best thing about these gigs is the endless flow of both out of towners and, possibly more importantly, international tourists. We’ve sold at least a couple thousand records scattered all over Europe, the U.S. and Asia. Not the highest profile, industry type gigs, but we sell a lot more units than we would sandwiched between three other bands with a 40 minute slot including set-up… you get the idea.

SOUNDTRACKS:
Our main niche since we formed in '98, hands down, has been mountain bike vids and extreme sporting t.v. shows. I’ll just rattle off a quick list and move on. Our tunes obviously go well with insanity and broken limbs: KRANKED II, KRANKED III, UNPARALLELED, BOARD WILD (FOX), SACRED RIDE (O.L.N. INT.), SNOWBOARD WEST (Sportsnet Pacific).

PRESS:
The usual I guess. Georgia straight. The Province, The Westender and a folder full of small town rags and 'zines that you will have never heard of anyway. Truthfully, we haven’t made the cover of Exclaim! yet and Maximum Rock n’ Roll isn't exactly calling everyday but we do our homework wherever we can.
