About Me

Primarily a cartoonist, Lee Thacker spent 8 long years completing his 800 page graphic novel 'One For Sorrow' (available from www.lulu.com/leethacker). During this time, he also wrote and recorded 8 albums on a Fostex multitracker. Gigging, 'proper' recording and even putting a band together were put on hold while he completed his graphic novel. He recently recruited his beloved girlfriend Kirstie on the keyboards and they occasionally rehearse together in their living room, playing simple indie guitar tunes with varying degrees of proficiency. My Interests

Music:

Band Website: www.lulu.com/leethacker
Band Members: Lee Thacker-guitar, voice, bass, drum machine, songwriting. Kirstie Wilson-keyboards, patience, encouragement.
Influences: Not so much influences as bands/artists/people that are important: The Fall, The Nightingales, The Mekons, The Birthday Party, The Wedding Present, Gang Of Four, The Slits, Jazz Butcher, Three Johns, Crass, Pavement, Chumbawamba, The Ex, Penny Rimbaud, Dave Sim, Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Neil Gaiman, Chris Ware, Joe Matt, Los Bros Hernandez, Daniel Clowes, David Lynch, Rod Serling, Chris Morris, Charles Schulz, George Herriman, most 1980's and post 2000 Rough Trade bands, Belle & Sebastian, Pixies, Art Brut, Melt Banana, Das Wanderlust, Lost Penguin, Bearsuit, Bobby McGee's, Arcade Fire and, of course, John Peel.
Sounds Like: The kind of band you see supporting a band you really want to see and can't wait for them to get off the stage so you can see the band you paid good money to come and see, but you applaud them anyway out of politeness and pity.
