Someone very wise once told me never to label myself, for better or worse (idealistic, irrational, happy, easy-going, a prep, a nerd, Democrat, a Rep, whatever, whomever), because when you self-define, those are your terms, and from that moment's utterance you are forever limited. Heaven forbid you ever believe the opposite, because that means you lost who you once were... and now you're left confused, unsure, and perhaps insecure.
The idea may be a cop-out, or to some, commitment phobia (ha ha)... But there is something very freeing, comforting about the ability to change.
I am forever changing; I am myself, whomever I want to be.
