Welcome to The Polygon Project on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland.........
This project was originally called "Lo-Rider" when we started around 1998 or 99. Some of these songs were written and recorded around that time on a Tascam 8 track analogue machine. Our working method was simple, Graham would appear with a handfull of printed lyrics and I would use any that immediately leapt out at me to create the songs. Most of them were instant, only a few took some time. I like it that way, there's no hi-tech stuff here, or any muso bullshit. The vocals were always intended to be temporary, a guide vocal really as I dont have the voice that I hear in my head. We never did find a "proper" singer so that is the way they still are, for now. Some will have a voice on them, or if they are newer and I couldnt fit a lyric to them, some will not. Write some lyrics if you like.....All the words are inspired by Graham's meanderings across the USA almost twenty years ago in a rented car with young family in tow. The collection of songs became known to us as the "Road Movies". Mostly they came out as "Alt.Country" I reckon, but the odd one strayed into straight ahead "Rock" territory and some came across more "Indie". Just whatever was the frame of mind.
