The Infidel Cowboys grew up listening to the sounds of coyotes,
rattlesnakes, crows, wind through barbwire, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell,
bleating sheep, a rambling truck over prairie land, Johnny Cash, hoofs of
horses beating the dry earth, Willie Nelson, crickets, and the buzzing of
black flies. One day heading into town to pick up supplies, the Infidel
Cowboys came across a broken-down van, filled with punx. After helping fix
their van, one of the punx gave the Infidel Cowboys a mixed tape, filled
with the musings of the Dead Kennedys, Butthole Surfers, Dead Silence,
Subhumans, Minor Threat, DOA, Crass, Dissent, and Conflict. These songs of
revolution, love, and anger merged with the world around us. Under the moon
and stars, the Infidel Cowboys sang for the coyotes, as we fumbled with
instruments and tools to wage protest against (as well as to laugh at) the
demons of the world. Hell, some nights the coyotes howled with us.
