RACKETT emerged during the summer and fall of 2004. Paul Muldoon and Nigel Smith began writing and recording songs in January 2004. They invited Stephen Allen, Lee Matthew, and Bobby Lewis to join them. "When Cole Porter meets punk," Paul Muldoon says, "or Ira Gershwin grunge, you're looking at what can be described only as 3-car garage rock." When not playing NYC venues like Joe's Pub, the Bitter End, and the Bowery Poetry club (where the band will begin a six month residency this December), Rackett roves far and wide, having completed tours of Ireland and New England, and preparing to tour Finland this September.
