Debut EP, "I Regret To Inform You The Boat Has Been Destroyed" coming soon.
With promises of a sweet summer dream and instruments, southern California band …Of Stalwart Fads formed in early June 2007, off ginseng and taurine as supplements. Based on conceptualizations of elephants, violence, and sexual innuendos, the Stalwart boys feature a thematic concept throughout each of their songs. With the introduction of then seventeen-year-old bassist Ryan Anthony into the music realm, …Of Stalwart Fads comprises of guitarist Frank Black and the ex-drummer of Glasgow Drive, Tanner Turner. The band formed immediately on the grounds of Anthony and Turner graduating from high school; so with strike of summer, the boys stepped things up a notch and entered in an extensive writing process where they caged themselves in preparation for creativity in writing.
Drawing influences from an eclectic mix of bands and artists, including but not limited to 311, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Glassjaw, the Books, Sonic Youth, and Fela Kuti, …Of Stalwart Fads play in respect to the wave of the improvisational progressive-rock era offered in the latter 1960s and 1970s. Fueled by spontaneous intricacies in sweeping, finger-tapping, concentric drumming, and thumping blast-beats, the Stalwart boys fear not to mix genres and play a form of appreciative music that takes an ear to listen to.
