About Me

Hello. This is where I write about things I like.

I like books. I just finished a PhD on the theory of revolution as festival, which is a bit art history, a bit literature, and a bit continental philosophy. You may regret asking me about it. I've been pretty much living in a library, but now I'm sort of emerging blinking into the daylight and wondering what real people do when they're not spending all day thinking about Marx's impressive facial hair.

I like politics. I'm an anarchist, but more in a sexy decadent fin de siècle France way than in a dreadlocks and tofu way. Octave Mirbeau rather than Swampy. Though I am vegan (but not preachy. I am a crap vegan). I put on some fun gigs and films and, ooh, stuff with the MATILDA social centre a while back, before it got shut down, and recently helped make the Heathrow Climate Camp more fun than anything else you could do that week.

I like music. I play banjo and shout a bit in a folk-punk band called THE HUNGRY HEARTS , laptop in a doom/drone band called MAN IS WOLF TO MAN . I used to play guitar in a post-hardcore band who shall remain nameless. I like to put on diy gigs sometimes, too.

I *really* like music. I occasionally make bleepy noises with an Amiga 500 and other bits of outmoded machinery - which you can hear here:
I like retro video games. I've been trying to fix this thing up into a MAME-running arcade machine of doom, with every game on it. Ever. If you are good at soldering, I'd like to meet you.

I like dogs. Especially Samoyeds/huskies. Dogs are ace.

I like urban exploration. I used to go exploring in this huge abandoned 1960s mental asylum in London a lot. Until the security gaurds started catching us a little too often.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

people who want to get drunk and have adventures, girls who want to share their makeup, people who let strangers sleep on their floor, anyone with a samoyed I can come round and pet, people who like feeding ducks, French people, female dominatrices with a rock and roll style, the Divine David, Bruce Springsteen, Bettie Page, George Bataille's corpse, girls who can beat me up, cute anarchists, hopeless romantics, "the other", you.
