Billy Sallee

My name is Billy Sallee. I have been playing music for roughly ten years. I have been influenced by many artists from many genre of music. I am a retired baseball player who moved to Nashville in 1994. Living in Nashville gave me a different perspective on the music I listened to. One year later I started writing my own songs in the way that I wanted to hear them. Today I have written well over one hundred songs and have recorded about sixty five or so of them on my computer. I have played in many bars and restaurants in this city including, Avio when it was A1A, Grapevine, Malibu pub, Varsity Blue (now Saddle Ridge), Hemmingways, Blue line diner, Sals Chophouse, Gambino's, and now The World famous Two Keys Tavern. I may have missed a few... I also have traveled to Huntington West Virginia quite a few times to play downtown on fourth at St. Marks and a couple of other bars I forget. We are currently putting a new band together. If you didn't know, we threw a band together for one night to enter a band contest. We called ourselves "One Night Stand". It consisted of Me, Rick Marks, Mike Golden, and John Trent. We got a call and flew out to L.A. shortly after we sent it in. We didn't win but learned a great deal. At the present time I have been playing at Two Keys on tuesdays, thursdays, and saturdays. I have been working with a guitarist/singer Brandon Meadows who has proven to be full of excitement on stage to add to his skillful singing and guitar playing. I/we have also been working with Rick Marks, a drummer with great skill who is known by many old and new bands in Lexington. He is currently doing some touring with Michelle Wright in Canada, so we use him when we can get him. With all that said, we have some exciting things on the table that we haven't told anyone yet but, In time, in time indeed....
