Tucker Jameson & The Hot Mugs

About Me

“Jameson and crew are suffused with the spirit of classic pop and rock & roll with mild hints of blues-rock and soul-pop tossed in…. There’s a lot of youthful exuberance here and that energy is matched with tasteful and skillful playing rather than garagey abandon.” Brian LaRue, New Haven Advocate, Aug. ‘08
Tucker Jameson & The Hot Mugs are currently students at Berklee College of Music in Boston. As individuals, each band member displays his knowledge and passion for all kinds of music and as a group, they demonstrate their commitment to making each and every song they play an unmatched listening experience.
Tucker Jameson, the lead vocalist and songwriter, has provided the basis for the band’s originality and energy. His songs are catchy and pensive—each takes you on a musical journey influenced by old-time rock and roll and the modern ballads and pop tunes of today’s superstars. From groovin’ tunes to romantic melodies, Jameson’s songs can make you shed a tear or literally dance for joy. Tucker’s “Never Grow Old” was a winner of the 2006 summer singer/songwriters’ contest at Berklee—a song written at the age of 16. Now 20, Tucker’s lyrical expressions can only be summed up with one word: amazing!
As important as the music itself, Tucker has assembled a group of musicians that bring to their live performances a vast body of knowledge and experience. Blake Powell, the lead guitarist from Kingwood, Texas, demonstrates a strong rock and blues background having studied with guitar greats like Rudy Cooley, Joe Stump and Joel Gregoire. Influenced by BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Blake knows how to rock the house. His extensive experience as both a musician and sound manager is demonstrated by the perfect selections of guitars and amplifiers that help create the amazing tones in the band’s tracks. His guitar solos are delivered with the greatest of ease and are nothing short of mind-blowing.
Will Cafaro is the very cool bass player from Commerce, Michigan, a small Detroit suburb. After playing the electric bass for several years, he began to experiment with the upright in high school. Since then, Will has won numerous awards for his excellence as a jazz bassist as well as a scholarship to Berklee College. With a jazz and rock background, Will brings to the band the coolness of master bass players along with nimble fingers and strong interpretive sharpness.
Dan Drohan, the drummer from Rochester, NY, delivers the foundation for the band’s driving beats. A musician’s musician, Dan’s experience with jazz and rock brings to the table the perfect timing and pulsating excitement evident in the band’s performances. He, literally and figuratively, never misses a beat! Whether performing live or recording at the studio, Dan takes the throne and dazzles everyone with his incredible percussive prowess.
