Steve is a Music Tech/DJ Tech Lecturer and DJ/producer from the NorthEast of the UK and the founding member of SoulBasics production team.Over the past 2 years he has worked alongside production partners MattBell and Nick Dobinson producing a number of releases featured on UKand international labels.
SoulBasics arrived on the house music production scene early 2006 withreleases 'City-Lite' and 'The Phusion EP' earning them respect fromsome of the scene's biggest names and guest mixes on numerous radioshows across Europe. To date, Steve has 10 years of DJ & productionexperience built on a passion for deep house, nu-jazz and broken beatssince the age of 18 when he was introduced to house music at theinfamous 'To the Manor Born' in Durham.
Influences came from the likes of Kerri Chandler, early KOT, MAW,Frankie Feliciano and Moody Mann all of which would later become theinspiration for many of the SoulBasics tracks. Over time, Steve's tastefor different styles of music has expanded along with his recordcollection to include genres such as tech house, acid jazz, ParadiseGarage disco classics, rare-groove, soul and funk allowing him tobecome more diverse as a DJ and producer.
As time has progressed, Steve has nurtured his own sound and stylewhich encompasses deep, tech house and nu-jazz. Steve's new projectswill hitting labels soon, watch this space!
