AXIS

About Me

Hailing from the birthplace of Heavy Metal (The Midlands), Axis are a new, midlands-based 5 piece rock outfit who hope to carry on the legacy of such heavy metal greats as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, while also, bringing the genre kicking and screaming into the 21st century with an infusion of the musical lessons learned over the last twenty years.Punk, goth and progressive rock are all combined into a sound that, whilst remaining true to its Heavy Metal roots, combines elements from all the musics that we love into something that is fresh and contemporary. Most of all though, Axis want to bring back a level of showmanship (and fun!) that we feel has been missing from most bands throughout the last decade. We hope to pay homage to the music that has inspired us so much over the years, all the bands who have stood by their fans and done their own thing, regardless of passing trends or what the media said was cool that week. Hopefully, this is gonna be a lot of fun for all!

Influences: Anything from the past thirty years that we felt Rocked! However, in the interests of being more specific :-) (and in no order of preference) :- Black Sabbath,Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Kate Bush, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Peter Gabriel, The Damned, The Cure, Guns N Roses, Gamma Ray, The Offspring, A.F.I, Cradle Of Filth, Blind Guardian, Spinal Tap, Nightwish, Within Temptation, and countless others......hope that helps, the best thing to do is just get down to one of our shows and check us out!

Brand New EP 'The Herd Mentality' Out now! Available at all upcomming gigs.

Next Gig! Tickets available, please contact us for tickets asap!
Sounds Like: Axis play a kind of punked up Heavy Metal/Hard Rock hybrid, which also attempts (when appropriate :-) to incorporate the sweeping sounscapes of bands like Pink Floyd and The Cure and also the complex song structures of bands like Fates Warning and Queensryche. Most Importantly though, you can jump about and sing along to it :-) If we do our jobs right it should be something a little bit different so come down to a show and check us out!

Long live the Axis!!!
