About Me

THE HYPNAGOGUE PODCAST IN ONLINE NOW!
Every two weeks, 90 minutes of the best ambient and electronic music. Search under "hypnagogue" at iTunes or visit hypnagoguepodcast.blogspot.com !
This page now has links to the myspace pages of more than 250 ambient and electronic musicians!
Looking for ambient music reviews? They're at the Hypnagogue web site.
ON FRIEND REQUESTS: I will add you ONLY IF you are an ambient/electronic music artist. I'd like this page to be a resource for people interested in the genre to find the musicians who create it.
ARTISTS: Please feel free to use the comments section to promote upcoming releases. Keep the listeners informed.
ABOUT HYPNAGOGUE REVIEWS: Hypnagogue reviews are based on the premise that ambient and electronic music are evocative media designed to create a space where none exists, to deliver an experience beyond musicality. And so the reviews attempt to look beyond the sound to the sensations it creates for a listener.
These are a listener's reviews, not a musician's. There's no presumption of technical understanding or an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of the genre. It's all about what the music does. Prior to writing a review, a CD is played for several days, sometimes to the exclusion of all other music, until the emotive thread that will form the basis of the review is found.
