Ricky Tan

Raised from the streets of Brooklyn, NY, a young Puerto Rican boy emersed himself in the land of Hip Hops roots, finding inspiration, and passion in the music as his life took him on a journey to The Hartbeat of Connecticut, also known as Hartford. Taking this profound gift of musical expression with him, he fought the obstacles of early years, only to rise and become a very talented, and creative Hip-Hop artist, and song writer. From avid listener, to the producer of his own work, Ricky-Tan has brought a raw pride to the music that is beyond his years. Inspired by the artist of the day, he found his own personal inspiration in the work of an associate his age, as he watch him rock stages at their mutual age of 17 amongst older artist. Seeing the energy, and feed-back, the crowd was giving was breathtaking to him. It was in that moment that the raw talent of Ricky Tan was born. Finding a platform for his passion for music, he crafted his skills of MC-ing to become the co-founder of Edgemaster's Entertainment, a label he and his brother are collectively working on. During his formative, years Ricky-Tan was a featured artist on S.Q Record's label, after ending a previous independent contract deal with Shadow Ryders/Shadow World ENT. Today Ricky-Tan works unsigned as a "free agent" impressing listeners with his gritty, aggressive yet intelligent stylings. Spitting fiery lyrics over insane beats, hes known for taking pride in every track he produces. Known as a perfectionist to many, he is arguably one of the most recognizable new artist on the rise, having been featured on several mixtapes spanning the country. Recently Ricky-Tan released his first mixtape "Sumthin Bout Da Hrtbeat, with rave reviews, and is now in the process of working on his next mixtape,"The Manhattan Project", a joint project with another artist on his label, Ill Khemyst. Although this young talent is still looking for management, it is easy to see why he continues to impress others with his extensive knowledge of music, as he works his way to the top.
