A black man who keeps his word and actually knows what that means, one who tells the truth, and takes care of what is his. One that recognizes that he can be a important factor in a child's life, one that is willing to lay his life on the line for a purpose other than proving how hard he is, or how much blood he will shed if someone "play him". A black father like the one portrayed in John Q.
A black woman that understands her value, puts herself before the needs and wants of any man, one aware of her surroundings, one I can have an intellectual conversation with regarding the going ons in the world, apartheid, poetry, the war, the "president", the advancement of black people, affirmitive action, anything besides a conversation that starts "girrrrl guess what" Don't get me wrong that is fine and dandy sometimes just not all the time.I would also like to meet: Barack Obama, Elene Johnson Sirleaf, Russell Simmons, Afeni Shakur, Nikki Giovanni, Oprah Winfrey, George Bush (because he can't possibly be as ignorant as I think he is)I would love to have met: Malcom X, Geronimo Pratt, Mahatma Ghandi, Amiri Baraka, Langston Hughes, Tupac Shakur, AaliyahThere are many more but I will not make this an essay.
