Faulkner is an awesome writer of many short stories such as "Wash", "A Rose For Emily", "Barn Burning", "The Brooch", and "Golden Land". I took a Caribbean studies course about two years ago. Here were some of my favorites: "Red Dirt Don't Wash" by Roger Mais, "Triumph" by C.L.R James, "Rosena on the Mountain" by Rene Despestre, "Encarnacion Mendoza's Christmas Eve by Juan Bosch, and my favorite short story was "The Night Watchman's Occurrence Book by V.S. Naipaul. As for as autobiographies go I have to mention Sidney Poitier's "A Measure of a Man". Poitier is from the Caribbean, and had a strong upbringing. That book is so inspirational.Also, a book called "The Woman Who Watches Over the World" by Linda Hogan. This is a book about pain and love and the strength found in the human spirit.
