Influences: ...mmm....bufff.... what can I say... it's subconscious mind job... I can tell you some of what I've listened to.I grew up with Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder (I love those Motown records, they're my childhood) and the blues, soul, jazz and funky records of my father (Commodores, Marvin Gaye, Duke Ellington, Aretha, James...). But when you are 12 year old you don't realize what you are listening to, now I apreciate it much more. Those years I was basicaliy sticked to MJ, but I also listened to all the black music that I could (it wasn't easy in a little town in Spain). That music makes me vibe, makes me feel... it's like teletransportation, like you don't have a body. When I discovered Hip Hop I was amazed by Wu-Tang, Gangstarr, Dr. Dre, Tupac, Busta Rhymes, Redman, Methical, RZA, Beastie Boys, Fu-Gees, Beatnuts, Cypres Hill.... after years I've been searching for new things but my favorite is Madlib!!!!!, I think he redefines the way of expression, he makes unique songs and concept albums as nobody is able to do. And it's not only the musical composition and the positive vibe, it's the positive message that I think that must be sent, make people think so we all get better. I'm down with that philosophy and with those who are also down with it. Peace to Dilla (big loss, so big, so good, so young, I'm so sorry...), MF Doom (illest wise villain), De La Soul (keep me high and rising), Mos Def, Dudley Perkins (all the Oxnard crew), Blackalicious (Quanum), Jurassic...It's not only hip hop, I also like Portishead, Massive Attack, Coldcut, Radiohead, Illya Kuryaki, fuck! there's a lot of them.... all those who make music with personality, creativity and good taste ;)Just a few artists touch your soul many times, when you find one you're a lucky man, and you gotta be thankful. So thank you so much Michael, Stevie and Otis.Keep music alive! Thanks to all artist for sharing their thoughts with the rest.
