My Thoughts
Evolution in action.
I'm an Electrical Engineering grad from UCSD. I double majored in Study of Religion because although I am not religious, but I love studying those who are. I study what people believe and why they believe.
I study religion largely because religion addresses the most important and largest questions in life: "Why are we here? What is the meaning of life? What is my purpose in life? What does the universe consist of, and why is it the way it is?" In high school these questions seemed daunting. Now they seem simple and answerable with common sense. As one of my favorite professors would say: It's about rendering the transparent opaque.
Science is the best answer to our problems, and the only hope for the future. I support all scientific pursuits. And although it's too difficult for me, I love physics because physics attempts to answer the truly profound questions. It's fascinating when physics overlaps with religion.
I've studied how religions came to be thought of as real. You might be surprised at how often fraud is involved in the creation of new religion (as I believe it was in Islam, Mormonism, and Scientology).
However, most religions are not created by fraud, but are created in the same way cultural beliefs are spread (referring to Berger's Sacred Canopy). Basically beliefs are spread down through the generations. Religious leaders will change some beliefs, which are the passed through the generations. It is eventually forgotten how the ideas originated and they are taken as fact. It's really difficult to discuss the way religions are created and propogated in one paragraph.
I'm currently in a serious relationship with Palmela Handerson.

It's amazing to me that girls meet .0001% of the male population, and yet 75% of the time they find their "soul-mate"
