ELECTRIC CHURCH

SUPPORT THE REVIVAL

About Me

Formed in the cold beginning of 2006, Electric Church is a band that doesn’t bullshit about their desire to write original music. With piercing lead guitar runs, a streamlined band format, and a knowledge of several different musical genres and styles, this group has managed to flawlessly orchestrate a unique synthesis of old world and new. Sometimes compared to bands such as the Smashing Pumpkins, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and Oasis - it’s easy to see that the group employs an entirely fresh groove.

The rock trio features songwriter/guitarist Christian DuPre, whose personal experiences have determined the tone of Electric Church’s material, in the oft overlooked role of composer. And while delivering searing, heartfelt guitar solos (that could sometimes be likened to the effects of being in & out of love), the rhythm is kept up with the pop-styled percussion that just flows from Tim Mills and the driving and jazz-inspired bass lines of DuPre’s long-time electric conspirer Todd Davis. The three-piece unit allows the musicians the freedom to work without too much politics, and to escape the horrors of a “trendy vibe.”

The trio is presently conducting seasonal tours of their Dallas/Ft. Worth scene – and often leaves behind full rooms of slain listeners at venues such as the Aardvark and the Cavern. Be sure to purchase a copy of their first independent release, “Just Call Me Helium,” at any Electric Church performance.
