Gravedirt

About Me

We like Monsters, plain and simple. The idea of Gravedirt has been floating around in the ether for a while. Initially the name came from a movie made about Zombies, love and sweet rides. A song of the same name was written for UK horrorpunk band The Fiends (RIP) but it never saw the light of day. Fast forward to more recent history; Hoagy and Colin from The Massacres, along with Brad Gravetone and Chris Ridiculous got together to jam some tunes, looking for something to satisfy their cravings for punk, metal, horror and that incidental music you hear from time to time in the old Super Mario Bros game. Two rehearsals later saw the foundations for what will become 'The Mothman EP', 3 tracks of which, in their raw demo state, are available here for your listening pleasure. We take inspiration from all over the place, from bands like Iron Maiden, Blitzkid, Joy division, movies like Return of the Living Dead 3, The Mothman Prophecies and the Godzilla series. We're probably a bit all over the place really, be we take the attitude 'if it works, roll with it'. We certainly aren't afraid to experiment, and it is through a desperation of samey-ness that we wanted to break some of these limits down. So, grab yer shovels, throw the horns and lets FUCKIN' ROCK!
