Doug E is a mixer / remixer / DJ , I have a very diverse background starting as a basement DJ at the age of 12. Doug Ciaramitaro ( DJ Doug E ) was first influenced by Detroit artists and DJs like Juan Atkins, Jeff Mills The Wizard, Charles Johnson "The Electrifying Mojo". This fueled my love for music. I fell in love with mixing and remixing. I was buying records and practicing every day which lead me to my first residency when I was only eighteen.As a DJ, I worked to perfect my style of mixing, hitting the Detroit club circuit. Since committing myself to my craft I have been able to spread my sound nation wide making guest appearances in various cities. I have been known to break records, dance on podiums, and bring items to throw to the audience. And it's certainly caught people's attention which has lead to features in media outlets such as the Detroit Free Press, Real Detroit & Metro Times.In addition to DJing, I graduated from Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts excelling in commercial production and also received an award for the most entertaining on-air personality. Interning at Detroits WRIF 101.1 with Doug Podell helped me to learn the industry and lead me to Detroits WPLT 96.3 assisting Alex Tear Music Director making play lists for the live broadcasted shows and joining the staff as an on-air personality. Detroits WDRQ 93.1 is where I started mixing on-air Friday nights working with widely known DJs. This lead to other mix shows through out Michigan and features in industry magazines such as FMQB.
