Edward J. Concepcion: "WARFARE was a band that I had dreamt of for a long time. I wrote most of the songs years before God orchestrated the meeting of the people who would play it. I met Steve Mirabile at a singles weekend retreat with Calvary Chapel in 1999. Both of us were sneaking away to have a cigarette and started talking about music. He was soon the lead guitarist for the band with a unique style all his own. At that point we were a 2 guitar band and were seekig a bass player and a drummer. The drummer came first in the form of one Roman Vosahlik, one of the best drummers that I have had the privelege to play with. Steve and I met him, once again, at a singles Friday night at Calvary Chapel. Then we began to focus on the bass player, but everyone that we auditioned were wanna be guitarists and we needed commitment! I decided to become a bass player and began to transfer the rythm section over to bass working with Roman. Steve then wrote guitar parts that harmonize with the original rythm and WALLAH!!! WARFARE was born!! Warfare means spiritual warfare!! I am at war and will continue at war until my dying day!!! We hosted alot of block parties and we waited a full year before our first gig (if your gonna do somthing, you might as well do it right!!) and we were an instant local success in the Christian community. That is not were I wanted to be. I wanted to spread a message in the main stream world, that it's not all fluffy and nice but honestly IT'S WAR!!! A war that must be fought and yet has already been won! So fight I will!!! Everyone in the band got married in the same year and ultimately broke up. In 2002 we recorded a CD entitled "Do You Know". We broke up shortly after. Roman and myself have since divorced. Steve remains happily maried with 3 kids. I have 2 kids of my own and I continue to record music, which just keeps getting heavier. I will eventually find a new band that is meant to play the new music. You'll be able to listen to the music once I figure out how to turn it into MP3!! Until then ROCK ON and GOD BLESS!!!!August 5th 2006:
Alright! I finally got the songs uploaded!!!! "It's an Illusion" and "Tear Down The Wall" were recorded at Ridenour Studios in Ft. Lauderdale in 2002 by the whole band. "Unwanted Obsession" and "What's it Take" were recorded in my living room on a Zoom digital multi-track which explains the cheesy digital drums! LOL. I recorded them myself and I can't play drums nor have I figured out how to customize them on the multi-track. They are completly raw, and unrefined. Feel free to give me your honest opinion.
