About Me

We call ourselves 'BirdontheMoon.'Under this guise we hope to enthral and entertain, with an eclectic blend of blues, pop, rock, etc. Using the jazz flavoured and often haunting voice of Viveka Eriksson and the electrically charged strings of Martin Birds guitar.
Martin Bird is a guitarist from the south coast of England with an extraordinary taste in trousers, He writes music for film and media. He learned playing guitar like so many others to The Beatles "St Peppers Lonely..." Then joined the punk/new wave scene which suited his energetic playing in the bands 'Virginia Doesn't and 'The Time'. He supported among others The Jam (Paul Weller fixed them up with a John Peel session), Joe Jackson, The Vapours, B.B.King. He also played in a band with Jon King from 'Gang Of Four' which was called 'King Butcher'.

Viveka Eriksson started singing as a child on her swing in her parents back garden and found herself later singing on top of a trapeze at Edinburgh festival, with a theatre/circuscompany, Circo Minimo directed by Quito Paoli , all wearing red noses. Sang in a studioproject with Chris Brown and Mike Vindici on Abbey road studios. Also in Hackney Empire, backing Horace Batchelor and the zeebra kitten bluesband. Loves singing in the middle of a field with goats and hippies on farms in Cornwall and on stages directly facing the sea. The guitarist Martin Bird, she met singing at Utopia studios, London. She is Swedish, lived in England for over fifteen years and in Washington DC for one year.
Vivekas more laidback sounds can be heard at the site "Laid back ViV"
We hope you enjoy.
