Wildblood isn’t exactly what she’s says on the tin. You couldn’t do her under the trade description act that’s for sure but there is a more sensitive side to this lass than her name would suggest. And dj wise that comes out courtesy of her soulful house side. Wildblood likes her tunes disco-dusted, layered with Latin or soul-tinged. Never happier than when she’s djing Wildblood joined the Wild Fruit dj rota in ???? when Audio was still The Escape and the play list was chilled. Soon she was proving at Sunday Sundae what clubbers at the Candy Bar, Shameless Hussies and Housewife’s Choice already knew. She was a house girl at heart. And the four to the floor soon followed. Guided by Richard Jones and Dulcie Danger Kate served her apprenticeship well and was soon behind the decks at Wild Fruit, Monkey, Kinky Dangerous and Rebel. Add her ventures at French Kiss, Dot Cotton Club, Majesty, Queer Nation, Wet Pussy and Honey and you begin to get Wildblood’s love with a decent groove.
A love affair she’s continued off the decks as she waxes lyrical for publications and websites including Dj Magazine, Gay Times, Diva, Ibiza-voice.com, Gscene, Big Love, iLabel and M Magazine. 2006 saw Wildblood and her djing missus Queen Josephine join forces for ‘Private Party II’ on Crazy Diamond. A house compilation of some style it began a new chapter in Kate’s career and soon ‘Secret Disco’ followed. Another slice of the decent stuff from Wildblood – one Dj Magazine called a “nurtured soundtrack of delicate sexy tunes from a duo who clearly hold house music close to their hearts†– that has ensured Queen Josephine and Wildblood remain in the hearts of house heads everywhere.
As every Chicago house don has utter since the early days “it’s all about house music†and although she maybe an Essex girl Wildblood clearly feels that heritage. Be it courtesy of her old skool and disco littered sets at Wild Fruit, the filthy funk of her Monkey moments or the soulful sweetness of her Secret Disco sessions Wildblood is one of the most passionate dj’s around. And it’s at her spiritual home of Sunday Sundae where she’s most at home. Be the beats laidback, Latin or disco lovely Wildblood gets no greater thrill than behind those Audio decks. The terrace, the tunes, the sunshine and the people combine to make Wildblood one chuffed dj. A dj loving her work!

I recently had the pleasure to be asked by Attitude Magazine my Top Ten Tunes of All Time. here's what - after some soulsearching - I decided upon the below. Published in November 2008.
Joey Negro Love Hangover (Joey Negro Club Mix) Z Records
A bouncy bassline from disco heaven that will always make me dance. Negro’s remixes always have the knack of making a classic a classic all over again and with Love Hangover ensure Ms Ross remains forever in my groove.
Around The World Daft Punk Virgin Records
I’m getting a rep for having the right Daft remix for the right occasion but then how can I fail with this 1997 corker? Three little vacoder words and one big mother of a bouncy bassline. Notice a ‘Wildblood loves’ pattern emerging?
Bobby Blanco 3am Feel The Rhythm
Bottle the essence of wildblood and I like to think it would sound like this. Funky guitar, bouncing bass (there it is again!) and a dirty undercurrent. It’s just a really simple groove with the odd horny moment but blimey does it demand your attention.
Superstition Stevie Wonder Motown
Track one, side one, Motown Gold Volume 2. Or track one, year one of my musical education. In-between Kraftwerk, Bacharach and The Supremes this would be my childhood soundtrack. Responsible for my funk addiction and easily my tune of all time.
Radiohead Nude (Justin Martin Remix) Chaos 2 Buzzin’ Fly
Like a dirty sunset this melodic moody fucker pulls at the underground’s heartstrings. Thom Yorke's vulnerability combines with the progressive house beats to joyful effect. It’s the progs bollocks.
I Feel Love Donna Summer Casablanca / RCA records
However you feel love, be it courtesy of DJ Meme, Kevin Duvall, Masters At Work or the original of Giorgio Moroder, this for me encapsulates everything that is fabulous about queer dancefloors. Epitomised by the love I felt come 6am at Brighton Pride 2008’s after-party Rebel. As my Wild Fruit family danced, my soul grinned.
Andy Caldwell featuring Lisa Shaw Warrior (Original Mix) Om Records
Soulful house with an electrifying edge that gets me right in the pants as Miss Shaw seduces the senses. Very San Fran but it will always reminds me of my hometown of Brighton – sun, sound and very sexy.
Bent To Be Loved (Soulchild Remix) Godlike & Electric Records
With a bassline that could creep round corners and Bent’s magical sensibilities this slice of French house music is a tune to love to. And it brings the kind of joy I first felt way back in the day. Modern house with a smiley face.
Chris Coco & Sacha Puttnam & Franco Battiato L'Ombra Della Luce Chris Coco & Sacha Puttnam Remasterpiece EMI Classics
Moonlight and stars, loved ones and a late night chill, for me this is all about love and beauty and being torn apart only to be put together again. Like being inside one of those glass shake-up snowstorms as love and loss come tumbling down.
Barbra Streisand Don’t Rain On My Parade Columbia Records
“Hey Mr Arnstein here I am.†The tugboat, the big chase, the hat, the voice, the train. It’s all so Barbra and so not me and yet it makes me so bloody happy. A soundtrack for the ride that can be life.
