Don't make me tell julio!

About Me

Hey guys, I'm a student at UCMT (that's massage therapy) and I am loving life right now as it comes to me. My friends are very important to me and I'm always looking to make more.
I'm a very passionate person and I hope that doesn't drive you away. I have an opinion about almost everything and I like talking about it. Everything from politics, the outdoors, conspiracy theories, religion, science, books, movies and god interest me. I also love to listen, pick up new points of view and digest them--I learn from the people around me.
A few things you'll probably find out soon enough when you meet me so I'll let you know now:
Gay: duh. If there's a problem with that it's clearly yours not mine. I respect the vocal bigot far more than the closeted Nazi. I'll assume you are cool with my orientation until I learn otherwise.
Atheist: or devout agnostic as I've heard it described. So what do I believe in? Mutual respect, dignity and personal freedoms. Let me be clear: by Atheist I mean that I do not believe in God but do not claim to know if this is true. I do however defend and respect people's rights to worship though I stray on the side of sacrilege.
Socialist: I believe that the most compassionate system of government looks out after the little guy, helps people to help themselves and protects them from corporate abuse... that makes me a socialist not an anarchist, communist, satanist or fascist--some don't seem to know the difference. That being said anyone who believes that any governmental structure will not suffer from the ills of corruption and tyranny should not try to hold a political conversation until they can handle reality.
Libertine: I follow convention as little as possible and I respect the same in others. Puritanical views of morality, quaint and comforting, but too simplistic and illogical. I defy religious mandates and establishments while in the pursuit of my own morality based upon rational thought not platitudes and dogma.
Pacifist: violence is reprehensible. Life and love is divine. One must be avoided at all costs and the other pursued with all energy of spirit.
Activist: as should you be.
Writer: Poetry, short fiction, editorial/opinion pieces.
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !

I'm one of those cynical types who has lost faith in most politicians.  Corruption, lack of accountability, words without actions, salesmanship over values.  Then I had the privelage to tal...
