Nawanshahr ( 19-Mar-2006) : Punjabi singer Kulwinder Dhillon (32) died in a road accident on the Phagwara-Banga road, near Behram village, yesterday night.
According to sources, the accident occurred when the Honda City by which Dhillon and his friend Baljinder Billa were travelling, went out of control and collided against a roadside tree. Kulwinder young 32 yr old, was a upcoming noted punjabi folk and religious singer and had just released a punjabi cassette "Akhara" few days back. With albums like "Kacherian''ch Mele Lagde," "College," "Valli," Kulwinder Dhillon had achieved fame in the hearts of all the Punjabis across the globe. Sources said he had left a Wedding Show in Ludhiana and was on his way home to Pind Pandori Ladha Singh, Tehsil Mahilpur, Distt Hoshiarpur. The fatal accident occured in Honda City.
The famous singer Baljinder Singh Billa was accompanying Mr. Dhillon.The accident occured when the car got out of control from Mr. Dhillon hitting a pulley, then a tree, injuring both passengers seriously. They were immediately admitted in Dhaha Kaleran Hospital, where Kulwinder Dhillon passed away shortly upon arrival. Baljin der Billa remains in critical condition. He is expected to reccover.
Kulwinder Dhillon had just released an album titled Akhara about two days ago. His other albums are "Gareeba Ne Ki Pyar Karna," "Teri Tasveer," Glassi Khadke," "Viah De Vajey" and several Dharmik albums. He leaves behind his wife Gurpreet Kaur and son Armaan Dhillon.We urge our music lovers to close their eyes for one minute and remember Kulwinder Dhillon.
