About Me

I was born in Unna, Germany in 1977. At the age of 6 I started playing classical piano and took up Jazz at the age of 17. Ever since I've played in numerous bands and was so lucky to work with wonderful artists from Europe and the US such as Matthias Schubert, Angelika Niscier, Jan Klare, Peter Eisold, John Salerno and Matthias Bergmann. I also had the chance to share the stage (ever too briefly) with Billy Drewes, Fred Frith, Hubert Nuss, Dietmar Fuhr, Michael Abene and others.
I've studied in Kassel and Dortmund, Germany, and spend time abroad in Green Bay, Chicago, and Charlottesville.
My projects cover swing and modern Jazz for small ensembles as well as larger groups. I will try to post new stuff regularly to keep you updated on the "latest s**t".

I am always interested in learning new things and working with people with fresh perspectives, so don't hesitate to contact me!

    Essbjörn Svensson Dead

What a shock. I always found his music rather influential to my own mucial aesthetics, although I have to admit I didn't always have only nice things to say about his work. Nevertheless, especially hi...

It’s the time of the year again, where people contact me to say that they thought about me or even missed me. That is very nice but (along with the "little town blues") made me a little melancho...

    Music(k) Galore

So, I suppose after a while out of the big pond that is the Ruhrgebiet, one finally realizes how much work it requires to put together a working band. I for one had to learn that the hard way. In a li...
