Even though Im from NYC, Cameleon Productions was started in Silver Spring, MD 1998. Back then Dymindbak and I worked religiously on countless projects. We used a Yamaha 4-track recorder, a CT700 Casio keyboard, a few cheap mics, and a home AV receiver. *******I started producing through playing the piano. The piano is the focal point in Cameleon Productions. If it is not being used, piano type arrangements are incorporated some how in many of my tracks. I dont really sample much. When I sample its normally a sound or a voice that accompanies the theme of the track. Most producers use samples as the main source in their production. They usually build around the sample. There is nothing wrong with that. Maybe I will make a track like that too one day. I just believe that if that is the only way you produce, you are relying on someone elses creativity to be creative. A producer should be able to create without using someone elses music.********The name Cameleon was created by Dymindbak. I thought it was a great name being that chameleons are known for their ability to camouflage with their surrounding. I guess that is my goal, to be able to create a track to any artist like a chameleon can camouflage in any environment.********Now, I have been focusing on vocal recording. I spend my time working on perfecting my recordings. Working the boards without computer assistance is primitive, but very rewarding with quality and know how. I have also been getting involved with the administrative aspect of the music industry. I took a few college courses related to the music business. I am currently majoring in marketing and advertising. I chose marketing as my major to be able to merge business and music. As we know, they dont go well together.
