Layout Created at MyProfilePimp.com I am learning Indian classical music and trying to understand bit of jazz and other musical forms. I love to go to music concert's and drag my freinds along with me...even if they end up sleeping right in front of the artist(such a shame really...esp when the artist's would notice it)..i think indian classical is too soothing for them..hahah..nevertheless they do thank me at the end of the concert which feel's good.. my close circut of freinds are finally able to understand some parts of indian classical music. I havent seen sunrise in many years now...and i have simply forgotten what morning feels like. For some reason i am a night person and so are my freinds:)))) I just found out that i am a great fan of mark knopler. however louis armstrong remains to be my favourite in jaaz.I think Sitar its The most Beautiful Instrument in the WORLD...its unfortunate that many of us dont know the instrument ...for one last time " Sitar is not Tanpura"..and sitar is not just used for background music either..its a complete SOLO instrument. Please hear some recordings of certain greats playing sitar solo..for eg: Ustad Shahid Parvez(my guru my Teacher), Nikhil bannerjee ,Ustad Vilayat Khan...PT Ravi Shankar.....and then judge for yourself.Where is the musical ear of our generation?..how can we let....Stupid and mindless music Culture our ear's. Honestly i sometimes pretend i like rock and heavy metal..so people think i am "cool"..in in reality it gives me a headache..really not kidding. Now Jazz is a completly different form...i think its pretty genuine...similar to ICM(Indian classical music)..now thats music for me...as it gives me a freedom of expression...now our very own ICM will give you the freedom to express as well...but with excellent disipline...now thats MUSIC...i am not saying other forms are not good.....but seriously our music is our music....its simply great.
