A masked hero of the Old West, secretly an escaped slave named Judd Langston. According to legend, a storm always followed in his wake. In 1868 Kid Thunder came to the aid of his friend, Eliza Smith, the servant of Deliverance Drue, who had been impregnated by her master. Thunder stole the Book of Mercury from Drue, and ultimately destroyed the mad Puritan adventurer by scratching his name out of the Book, causing him to exploded. Before he died, Drue cursed Kid Thunder and all his kin. Kid Thunder subsequently turned the Book over to the mystic hero Nighteagle, but Drue’s curse eventually came true: Kid Thunder’s descendant was Marcus Langston (Sentinel), who resorted to murder to retain control of the Book.
