History was made in 2006 when two young men agreed to come together to bring classic rock to the people of Maidenhead, then Reading and later ..... the world! After the demise of a previous band Alex and Matt decided that they would play rock with the spirit the true rock gods of the seventies played it with and no matter what anybody else thought they would stick true to themselves. They wanted to enjoy themselves and for their audience to enjoy themselves too, and come together to praise rock for how it should be, not what it has become.....long live rock'n'roll!

-"Lastly, we have History, who consist solely of the front man (who has the most fantastic Marc Bolan-meets-Justin from the Darkness hairdo) and a drummer. A brave move indeed.
We are treated to Hendrix style guitar riffs, and Dylan-esque vocals, which could do with some work, but are captivating, nonetheless.
A really chilled out, 'Woodstock' feel to finish off a night where I survived the most frenzied moshpit I've seen in years."

-"Its like T-rex's Marc Bolan meets the white stripes in my opinion, good raw rock music with mind blowing vocals. Out of 10 you deserve a good 7+1/2 ."

-"Take the setup of the white stripes, lace it with some classic rock anthems and you have “Historyâ€, a two piece out of Maidenhead. What strikes me as remarkable for the band, is how despite a lack of bassist or second guitarist, they have maintained a full and fat sound in their music, particularly in the song “Giving up On Loveâ€, which has the sound of a classic 80’s rock tune, and the lyrics to go with it. For me this song is the strongest of their recordings, everything fits so well.
Its hard to criticise a such a well produced demo. The professionalism of the sound is second to none, to the extent that the bass drums prominence has been increased to cater for the lack of bass guitar. This resulting in that fatter sound I made reference to earlier. Though if I was to pick one fault in this demo, it seems that vocally sometimes the band write a little outside of their range such as at the very beginning of “Sexual Placesâ€. This isn’t an overly noticeable problem, so I really shant put emphasis on it at all. As generally speaking History’s vocal work is far better than most bands that are around at the moment.
Whilst “Giving Up On Love†is a clear favourite song for me, “Andrea†is a close second if not for its hard hitting introduction, its catchy, almost pop-punk chorus line. Its upbeat, its happy. What more could you ask for?
In all History are a great band who clearly have a well defined sound that they have worked at. They have overcome the obvious hurdles that stand in the way of two-piece acts, and having heard their sound I don’t think they would be quite the same if they were to add new band members. I think this just goes to show that the old saying is right. Sometimes less is more."
