De Lions of Jah

De Lions of Jah is an upbeat and soulful roots reggae band. Following in the foot steps of Bob Marley, De Lions of Jah fuses traditional roots music, with contemporary dance hall and hip hop influences. Being De Lions originates out of Duval county Jacksonville, Florida. They are an array of band members from various places ranging from the Caribbean and from here in the states. Lead vocalist is "Da General" from Antigua, West Indies Islands. The “General” is an experienced reggae vocalist who has produced many CD's over the last 10 years blessing listeners with his raspy harmonic chanting and soul moving songs. Da General also possessing the ability to sing like classical reggae vocalist from the past and chant live, he displays contemporary dancehall styles that makes for one hell of a show. On guitar is Jahlonious Monk who is a classically trained musician, bringing his own touch of mood setting reggae sonatas Jeremy is the only guitarist originally from Gainesville, Fl. He is another force in “Da Lions of Jah” he contributes and constantly approaches his music with an open heart and open mind with the band. Jahlonious has astonished crowds with his own way to play amazing solos and sweet sounds. On bass is Natti Chris, with a love, of reggae Natti feels the round walking bass line placing you in the raw behind the scenes feel of the mood of the island. He sends mind altering visuals of island life, setting the perfect makings for heart with his great reggae beats. The band makes audiences desire, leaving them wanting to pay homage to old and new reggae sounds. ..s boards The Mad Scientist from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands he also resides in Duval County with the other members. Jay brings a little hip hop and personality to the band. This younger new flavor brings the keys too a different level while still having his own flare in the sound that makes up the collective and various crafted musicians, thus making “Da Lions” roar even louder. On drums is "Skins", moving the stage, with hard yet precision, percussion that provides the pace for heart of the listeners of all ages. He came to the band from Charleston SC, skins started playing in his church and transferred his style when he found the love in the beat of reggae sounds and started playing reggae from that point in time. Playing roots music for over 10 years, Skins has perfected his one drop style making all things drop. Wow! I just felt it! De Lions of Jah is an all deep rooted, original reggae band with 2 self made and promoted CDs giving the world both “MUSIC” and “I-95”. These CD’s are recommended by reggae fans in the states and internationally.
