I have been painting, creating and exhibiting for the last seven years, both in the Colchester area and London. I am a founder member of the artists group The Janus Group which was formed with fellow college students in 2002. The group was formed to help us gain exhibitions and work opportunities and so far the annual exhibitions have gone well.My art work mainly focusses around concepts of narrative and the visual language of museums and galleries. Merging and creating characters and scenes from a mixture of cinema, roman greco statues, museum artifacts and childrens stories. I weave new tales of fading resistance and forgotten importance tinged with strength- all with a strong female slant.My new website andreamalby.co.uk is up and running soon with more examples of my work and the latest exhibition news.
