About Me

"I thought it was going to be bloody awful, I'd just started working with Andy and he asked me to come and meet Barney and Adam in a practice room on some industrial estate in the middle of nowhere, Leicestershire. I thought they'd be a pub band at best and that we'd all get a bit bored and I could go back to watching Coronation Street on a Wednesday night. Looks like I was wrong" - John, October 2006
Formed in 2005, 27Brigade have risen from a handful of ideas to play some of the best venues in the East Midlands, with some of the best live acts around and two complete recording sessions, the product of which set to make it onto an EP in the near future.
Experienced musicians from different musical backgrounds, playing music because they enjoy it and their enthusiasm for what they do rubs off on those around them, with followers and fans making repeat visits to their live shows. With songs that demand your attention, part time professionals with full time jobs, their full potential to produce music to blow everyone away has not yet been fully realised
Dirty Rock and Roll with a passionate heart beating inside, 27brigade's sound can be likened to Libertines dancing with the Kings of Leon and BRMC at the best disco in town, with suspiscions of something colourful in the punch.
It's difficult to measure how 27brigade have changed and matured in their sound and presence since their creation in 2005, with a strong repertoire of material, continually adapting to remain within popular, but different enough to sound unlike anything you've heard before. The only things to remain the same are the quality of material and the same rehearsal room, in the middle of nowhere, Leicestershire.
Be part of the 'brigade and catch them while you still can.

My Interests

Music:

Member Since: 23/03/2006
Band Website: www.27brigade.co.uk
Band Members:
Andy Billington - Lead Vocals/Guitar;
A fan of the Cramps, Clinic and Kevin Shields, - a quarter of 27brigade. Uses: Epiphone and Italia guitars and a modified Westone Spectrum, Carlsbro Amps and Danelectro, Artec and Guyatone FX

John Alexander - Bass/Vocals;
A bass player with a history of guitar playing. Inspired to play the bass by Peter Hook and the two lads out of Ned's Atomic Dustbin, still trying to play lead guitar on an electric bass. Uses: Fender and Musicman basses, Ashdown Amplifiers and Boss FX

Barney Wilds - Drums/Vocals;
The heaviest hitter in the East Midlands. Influences range from Keith Moon through to Reni and every rock drummer between. Barney Wilds is the rhythm that is 27brigade. Uses: Premier Royale drums and Sabian cymbals

Adam Corbinzolu - Guitar.
With an addiction to melody and an obsession of swirling noise, influences range from the Velvet Underground through John Squire and out of Nick Mccabe, and provides much of 27Brigade's jangle. Uses: Fender, Epiphone and Squier guitars, Fender Amps and various pedals

Influences: Each other.
Sounds Like: Dirty guitar riffs, melodic with a psychedlic swirl, driving rock-a-billy rythms with occasional violent assults on the old sound catchers!never contradicting - rock'n'roll at its purist! - 27Brigade
Their material is different yet comfortably familiar. Individual yet encompassing enough to embrace new ears. - BBC Leicester
I could just write here...'Simply Rock and Roll at it's best'. .....27 Brigade break the mould and bring back rock to its original best. .....27 Brigade would not look out of place playing in venues like Camden Barfly and I hope that this is what lies in store for these lads in the near future. - Demos Reviewed
27Brigade.........were tight, original and immediately catchy. - Loughborough Echo
