Zorba the Buddha

About Me

.. width="425" height="350" .. ZORBA THE BUDDHA,was born late November of '05 in the Oregon District at the Nite Owl. The birth of this band was unplanned as it was the first time meeting in a sort of crash course practice/performance. This first session was to create a foundation for the rest of the construction...Although somewhat unrefined, we are still proud of those first few freestyle jam sessions.
ZTB even plays a few of the songs we made in those fateful "Jam Sessions," although, the songs have been restructured and polished up quite a bit. ZTB's sets range from originals, jazz to reggae conversions, roots reggae covers, and even a few popular artists conversions. ZTB's lyrics touch on social issues, love, or a lack thereof, much like the lyrics heard in foundational Rastafarian reggae music. A must see for music fans tired of commercialized meaningless pop music performances.
In early days of Zorba The Buddha only 2 of the 3 bandmates played instruments *Brian on both the keys and the bass on keys, Keith on drums, and Mike on vocals and percussion. Even to this day, the drums are controlled by Keith Allen, Mike B. continues to sing his heart out, Brian Weyrich still plays the keys and creates the mind-melting effects. Now the guitar is strummed by Kris Hanson and Reggie Stone slaps the bass. Come experience reggae done in a Zorba the Buddha fashion.
