About Me
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Music controls the emotions. It has been and will always continue to be the biggest medium of expression amongst both young and old alike by providing not only a hypnotic visual of words, but also injecting a feeling. Enter the self-contained unit known as Braille Method. Hailing from the frozen tundra of St. Paul, MN, the Method (a/k/a Eklipz, Glo Pesci, and Rastar) are here to put those emotions back into todays music. Coming together out of a mutual respect for the art of hip-hop, the units main focus is to preserve the culture for the next generations to follow. Musically different from the East/West/South joints that continue to keep heads noddin, Braille Method definitely have an obscure blend of frequencies that are sure to please the minds of the multitudes. Not presenting reps of gangsters, mafiosos, or Cristal sippin money fakers, these brothers are taking it past keeping it real. Theyre keeping it honest with beats and rhymes that are sure to have the wax in your ears transforming into putty.
These three lyrical specialists have been confidants since 1993 and have created a reputation for themselves. Representing everything from rugged, rough rhythms to smooth, melodic, jazz influenced beats and abstract expressionism, this close-knit crew is seeking to overthrow the industry and place the state of Minnesota on the map (check your Rand McNally for location).
In 1998, Braille Method (formerly known as The Abstract Pack) delivered their debut album Bousta Set It (For The Record) which included the underground hits YES, Go For Mine, and No Coast. This album helped gain them a strong fan base from L.A. to Philly and was a favorite amongst the college and mix-tape djs. Along with those accolades included sharing the spotlight with some of the industrys most notable artists (e.g., The Def Squad, Kurupt, Xzibit, OutKast, Ginuwine, Biz Markie, Common, Rakim, MC Lyte, and Tha Alkoholiks) and receiving write-ups in magazines such as; Blaze, The Rap Pages, The Source, and The Gavin. Not to mention that their cameos on The World Famous Wake-Up Show (hosted by King Tech, Sway, and DJ Revolution) placed them as some of the most respected unsigned artists. Currently theyre working on creating a masterpiece sophomore project which will be self-titled Braille Method and have been working with various producers and artists alike. Tracks such as the neck breaking Yall, the West Coast influenced What I Ride For, and Latin-inspired Comprende? are sure to be favorites for the hip hop purists. And if thats not enough, the group had their song Bounce placed in the original score for the 2002 comedy The New Guy featuring Eddie Griffin. The group has also recorded songs with Hidden Beach recording artist Lina, for her Save Your Souls compilation Volume 1 & been featured artists on The Stage (a weekly online talent showcasewww.oncircuit.com).
The Braille Brothers (as they affectionately call themselves) have since relocated to sunny, southern California to pursue their dreams of becoming Minnesotas first break-out hip-hop group. I think its safe to say that with the track record they have accumulated, the world will soon see that Minnesota truly does have more than just blizzards and bar bands.
