I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am a writer. My favorite color is orange, and I like to smile. I say that write for a living, because writing is my life, but not my livelihood at the moment. I'm confident that one day, it will happen. I try to choose my words carefully, because I tend to take people at their words. For as hard as I try, I realize that there are times when the words I use will not be received as I intend them to be. I'm trusting, but not gullible, forgiving, but not foolish. I want to contribute something to making others' lives better for having known me. Learning is a life-long process. Every day, I am utterly amazed that God continues to love me in spite of myself. Pet Peeves: Rude, ill-mannered people; poor customer service; wasting my time or my money Which Dead Poet Are You?
You are Anne Sexton - a sensual, wild person with a taste for adultery. You prey on lesser talents, luring them into your bed and into your poetry. You are the Venus Fly-Trap of confessional poets.

For the record, cuss words don't bother me, as I believe that they can either serve to punctuate or obscure one's message, depending on how or how often they are used. How you choose to expand or limit your vocabulary is your business, but I suggest you read a book. I'll chat with anyone who has something positive or contructive to say. No offense to anyone, but I delete any signs of nonsense. MySpace. My rules. My discretion.

Airing Laundry... Coming Clean

I decided I need to brain dump. For those who missed my clever play on words, that means I need to let a whole lot of shit off my mind, trying to get it ready for the next phase of my life; and cleari...

Sapphire's Blues... A Review

This little book packs a nice punch. Sapphire's Blues, by Ingrid Jeudy, is something more than a snack, but not quite the full meal, either. It's more like one of those Lean Cuisine entrees that's rea...

Mind Your Own Stones

This is one of those times when a comment I make to another blog tends to inspire me to elaborate on my thoughts in my own blog.  My friend, Dayna Michelle, posted a blog that referenced domestic viol...

Proof of Life

Well, apparently, I'm still alive.  Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, I've recently discovered, like in the last 36 hours, that I must still be living and breathing.  Yesterday, when I wa...

You Better Be Glad I'm a Christian...

One of the funniest things I remember overhearing my grandmother saying is, "You better be glad I'm a Christian, or I'd kick your ass."  I was very young at the time.  She must have been in her early ...

Don't Call Me Sexy

Here's the thing.  Sexy is one of those words that has a way of being overly familiar, or grossly impersonal, or just right, when said by the right person in just the right context.  It used to be one...

Sometimes people say exactly what they mean, and even when or even though, the words still mean nothing when comes the time to show and prove.  I get very sad when I think of that.  I get very sad.I'm...
