The Sound of Matthew

About Me

In 1978 love was made, cells were split, and on July 8, 1979 a child was born. His full Christian name was Matthew Morgan Haley. He grew up going to a small church in the middle of nowhere. There he heard the preachings of his grandfather along with morbid hymns sang off key to an out of tune piano and an organ.

Matthew grew up around music and began toying with instruments at an early age. But while many musicians love to say "it's all about the music," our little child of music knows better. It's deeper than that. Playing a bunch of notes is just creating background noise. There is already enough of that.

Matthew is a Cancer (for all of you astrology fans). Cancers are ruled by the moon. The moon does not create light but reflects it. The sound of Matthew is a reflection; a reflection of something that began with morbid hymns sang off key to an out of tune piano and an organ somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

But now Matthew's music little resembles what he had once grown up with. As he grew, that little church no longer seemed to fit. Life got bigger. More and more stimuli caused neurons in his brain to fire, reacting with his previous experiences, resulting in what is now the Sound of Matthew.
