Q : Why this name?
Marvelous : I juss thought "Marvelous" sounded mainstream (commercial) and I was focusin on becoming more mainstream and less underground at the time.
Q : When and how did you gain such passion for Hip Hop?
Marvelous : I was only sixteen years old when my older brothers best friend passed away. During this time, I had witnessed everything but death and I never had someone so close to me vanish out of my life like that. It seemed so unreal so I had to write about it. That day, I wrote a poem ( my first poem ever ) dedicated to him. After I wrote it, I read it out loud for my older brother's and they automatically saw the talent in me so from that day on, I started writing more and more and slowly fell in love with Hip Hop. Since than, I've dedicated my life to it. I've worked with almost every local armenian hip hop artist and producer and through that, I've learned how to mold myself as an artist with skill and technique. Since the day I started MC'in, I've improved like crazy and it seem's like every song I drop is better than the one I dropped before it.
Q : How did Absolute come about?
Marvelous : Well, one of my older brother's who goes by "Duke Da Absolute" used to spit rhymes himself. He had talent but not the talent the industry was lookin for. More like the talent the industry had already grew out of. He had big dreams so he set his mind ONLY on hip hop. After a while ( probably about the time I started writing ), he finally realized that his style was too simple and wasn't what the record label's were lookin for. After hearin my lyrical side, his big dream's came into play and a idea popped into his head. He gave up rappin and gave in on makin me the superstar he once felt he could've become. He started producin and mixin down my music and Absolute Record's was born! Duke Da Absolute as the CEO and Marvelous as the artist. Ain't nothin better than workin with family cause you know that business can't come between that. Before I started writing, me and my brother would always fight constantly and didn't really see eye to eye but everything changed after that first recording session. We became real close and now I can call him my best friend. It's been a long journey and I can honestly say we've been through hell and back for the love of hip hop.
Q : Who is currently signed to Absolute?
Marvelous : The official Absolute Records is Me ( Artist ), Krook ( Artist ), Duke ( CEO ), & Dj T3mper ( Producer ).
Q : Have you ever played live?
Marvelous : Yes I have.
Q : Where have you played?
Marvelous : My first real gig was at the Hypnotic Lounge in January. Even though the speakers was horrible and the DJ didn't know what the phuck he was doin, I can honestly say it was alot of fun. I mean, I love performing and I feel that the more I perform, the more I grow into it and have fun doin it. I've also performed at BB King's with the Casper Brothers and done a christmas special at Camp Glenn Rockey in San Dimas.
Q : How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Marvelous : I think the internet gives mad exploits and promotion to the music industry. If it wasnt for the internet, I guarantee that music sales would drop at least 75% but thats just my opinion.
Q : Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Marvelous : Depend's on what that contract hold's. What kind of deal there offerin to give me and how they runnin there shit.
Q : Your influences?
Marvelous : Marvelous ( Believe it or not, I influence myself ), Eminem, Crooked I, Fabolous, Cassidy, 2pac, Diplomats, Lil Wayne, Etc. Those are just a few favorites but you get the idea.
